I appreciate talent when I see one. I'm a sucker for good old entertainment, the one that would bring you to a fantasy land, forget about your worries, makes you smile.. you know, simple things that makes us get hooked and keeps us wanting more.
I stumbled upon a YouTube video of Julie Anne San Jose a week ago as an accident. I was searching for a video of Superbass by Sophia Browlie (an adorable 7 year old girl) when I saw with a mind blowing 7 million hits of Julie Anne San Jose's cover of the same song. I got curious all of the sudden.. how the hell did she got this many votes? I have never heard such name, but she certainly is familiar. I watched the video and like those 7 million people...i was so impressed!! Amazing voice! Pure Talent! That's my initial impression.. and surely she could Rap really well!
Now, let me tell you...
Although I am not very old as a matter of fact at 23 years old, but I think I am old enough not to fall for this silly "Pasweet-sweet" tricks that we always see on TV. I can't even believe myself that I am actually loving this singing pair. They are one of those talents that you know are PERFECT.

Julie: wonderful voice, exceptionally multi-talented, beautiful, sweet, non pretentious
+Elmo: extraordinary rapper, husky voice, really cute, melting smile, humble.
A good recipe for a successful tandem. Their chemistry is undeniable.. it made a lot of people drawn to their love which is music. Both young and very single (i hope), most of their fans always wonder if they really are "together". You couldn't blame them of course.. coz some things are too good that we hope they are true. Does life truly imitate art? That's what I was trying to investigate thanks to a lot of FANCAMS and performance videos on YouTube.

Case # 1
They sing in perfect harmony.
Nobody tries to over sing the other and as a matter of fact when one screws up the other one picks him/her up. Its very rare for this young talents to be so giving of one another. Though they try to mold their solo careers as separate talents, but they never forgot that they are a team.
Case #2
The unintentional "Huli Tingin".
To their fans, it is always "nakakakilig" whenever they would look at each other during their performances and even more to see them get "kilig" whenever they caught each other looking so intently at one another as evidenced by their off and on cam videos.
Case # 3
You smile, I smile effect.
Though this happens not so often while with them performing, but when it definitely happens its just priceless! When the two caught each other off-guard and would smile simultaneously without intent or being "choreographed" you'll really notice the sincerity behind those smiles : )
Case # 4
Every little thing you do is magic.
When they perform outside of PP they seem very relaxed and spontaneous. Julie performed at F.Magalona's benefit concert while Elmo guested at her Mini Concert and other mall shows that they had. Its kinda cute how they would always reciprocate each other's sweet little gestures like a simple holding hands (which would always last longer than on TV), the hug, the kiss on the cheek.
Case # 5
When you say nothing at all.
With their rehearsal videos, I noticed that : they get on .. do the job.. and would never talk to each other. This got me worried. Yes, they sometimes would make "small talks" but never a conversation. Is it because they really are serious with their craft? Is it a "Business Only" relationship and not a friendship? One YouTube viewer commented -- "Bakit? D ba sila close?" : (
Case # 6
Don't leave me.
Not only me but a few people would always comment ... Why is Elmo always leaving Julie after their production numbers in PP? Bakit kaya? I have no clue.
But one instance I have seen after "Should have kissed you" production where Elmo was caught on FanCam holding Julie's hand after leaving the stage till they get to the podium where they have their spiel. (and that was a long walk!!)

We could speculate so much regarding their relationship both in a professional and personal level. At the end of the day, our opinions wouldn't even matter, it is them who will truly know the "real deal".
The romanticism, the fantasy .. that's what they are selling, and we are buying it! Their fans, peers and the industry beyond this "Love Team" persona actually are noticing their talent and potential and made them multi-awarded performers. Maxene Magalona said: They are good for each other because they push each other to be better. And with this, I am satisfied.
As young as they are and the amount of talent they both posses, it is Written In the Stars that they are up to greatness. May it be as a duo or as solo. All I know is that, they made a lot of people happy whenever they perform. There fans are the greatest in the world (todo support talaga with matching protest pa...daig pa ang mga rallyista sa daan) and that's why they work so hard not only to meet their fans' expectations but also to prove that they are not just a Love Team....because they never were... it is never intentional that they were paired together... IT JUST HAPPENED!
